Empty Bowl Press was founded nearly thirty years ago by several writers in the Pacific Northwest. It started as a cooperative press which emphasized works with strong eco-consciousness, often leaning toward Buddhism and other Eastern philosophies. After running into financial difficulties in the mid-nineties, the press closed up shop. It was resuscitated in 2006 with the publication of Tom Jay’s The Blossoms Are Ghosts at the Wedding. The publisher, Mike O’Connor, is committed to maintaining the high standards that the press had developed.
